Money and Risk Institute is a Continuing Education and micro-credential platform built to complement existing advisor training, focused on how clients actually experience risk, the financial psychology of advisor and client, and the factors that shape real-world advisory relationships including of course, Money and Risk Inventory. Each program combines behavioral insight, applied frameworks, and practical tools that can be used immediately in client interactions.
At the core of the platform is the Money and Risk Inventory (MRI) — a structured approach to understanding client comfort with risk, financial psychology, and how those factors shape the client–advisor relationship. We combine behavioral risk assessment, financial psychology, and client communication into practical, CE-eligible modules that advisors can immediately apply.
1–10 credit hour modules covering applied financial psychology and behavioral risk.

Individual Enrollment: $39
This course introduces a structured, psychology-informed approach to goal formation, evaluation, and achievement within financial planning and personal decision-making. Participants will learn how to move beyond surface-level goals (e.g., retirement, wealth accumulation) and uncover deeper, identity-driven motivations that sustain long-term engagement. The course emphasizes the dynamic nature of goals, framing the “finish line” not as an endpoint, but as a transition into new phases of purpose and direction. Through applied frameworks, participants will develop the skills to design meaningful goals, identify psychological barriers, and guide individuals or clients toward more intentional, adaptive goal pursuit.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
· Differentiate between externally imposed goals and intrinsically meaningful, identity-based goals
· Apply a structured framework to help individuals clarify, articulate, and prioritize goals
· Analyze the psychological drivers of goal pursuit, including motivation, avoidance, and emotional conflict
· Identify common obstacles to goal achievement (e.g., ambiguity, misalignment, shifting identity) and strategies to address them
· Integrate goals into a broader financial planning or life-planning context
· Facilitate more effective goal-based conversations with clients throughout the planning process.
